  About the submarine painting:

Pascal Lecocq

Andre Laban is a man of legend and is known in the world as the only artist painting under water. He used to be a submarine engineer and a member of   Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s crew. His first submarine seascape found world popularity in 1962. The canvas reveals the interior of the «Diogen» undersea house, the one where for the first time in history aquanauts worked for seven days according to the programme specially developed by Cousteau. At present Andre Laban is a painter whose works submerge the beholder in a realistic submarine environment and enable to sensate what a scuba diver sees under water. Andre Laban like no one else manages to portray the peculiarity of subaqueous world, its tonality and genuine sea mood.

Pascal Lecocq, a French painter, is another brilliant representative of the “submarine” art sphere. Lecoque is a surrealist possessing a superb sense of humour. His creations reveal poetry as well as imagination and dream. His artworks are to a great extent individual with rich colour schemes and graceful painting style. Pascal Lecoque has become famous for his surrealistic representation of divers against bright blue background.

Whatever the artwork style, size and material may be only this very artwork possesses the certain image seamlessly matching your life and replenishing it with feelings of beauty and harmony.

No matter if you are a visitor, a painter or a sculptor – it will be equally fascinating for you to visit the exhibition!
